MEET THE TEAM ✧
Terri Burt - FOUNDER
Meet Terri, the founder of The Nitty Gritty on Barret Ave, established in the spring of 2000. With a mission to create a fun regional destination for quality vintage clothing and costuming, Terri has been dressing the city in style and sass for over two decades.
Terri is fiercely passionate about sharing the history of fashion with her customers, making sure everyone looks their best for any occasion—whether it’s a 1920s Gatsby party or just another eventful Tuesday. When she's not curating the coolest vintage pieces, you can catch her rocking out by the river or taking leisurely strolls with her three adorable pups. They're her biggest fans, although they still think tail-wagging is the height of fashion.
Come on down to The Nitty Gritty and let Terri take you on a stylish trip through time. Warning: You may leave looking like a rock star and armed with some serious fashion knowledge (and possibly a dog treat or two).
Amy Kunzler - STORE MANAGER & SEAMSTRESS
Amy purchased her first vintage dress at age 19, beginning a life-long love of vintage clothing and fashion history. Amy is an alumna of The University of Louisville with a B.A. in Art History and later attended Fashion Design school. Joining The Nitty Gritty in the spring of 2006 after a stint in corporate America. Now, as our manager and resident seamstress, she's the fairy godmother of vintage fashion, breathing new life into old threads and creating stunning historical costumes.
In her years of collecting, Amy has learned that vintage clothing of the mid-20th century is unmatched in its construction details and quality. Her preferences are 1950s cupcake styles as well as bold prints and vibrant colors. A 1960s Pucci dress is her "holy grail".
A huge fan of Doris Day, Amy believes in living glamorously. In her spare time you can find her petting dogs and summoning the pool boy to bring her another cocktail—because why not live like a vintage movie star?
Emma Rosenberg - WEBMASTER & MARKETING COORDINATOR
Meet Emma, the dynamic force behind the scenes at Nitty Gritty Team since January 2024. Armed with her trusty keyboard and an arsenal of style, she's the brain behind our digital makeover. A proud graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Fashion Marketing, Emma brings a unique flair and a keen eye for trends to everything she touches.
When she's not diving into spreadsheets, and sprinkling her magic on our online presence, you can find her immersed in one of her sewing projects or watching NY Fashion Week (for research purposes of course). With Emma on board, innovation and style go hand in hand, ensuring that Nitty Gritty remains at the forefront of the industry.
