The fabric content is unknown, but more than likely wool.
It is fully lined.
. Jacket has a Mandarin collar with velvet trim and decorative buttons.
It is open to the waist; 4 buttons between the waist and hip.
The peplum is very stiff – to help with that exaggerated nipped-in waist look.
“Sack” back with a back “belt” with same velvet trim and buttons as the collar.
There is a pleated back on the peplum.
Finally, it has three quarter length set-in sleeves. Sleeves are unlined and it has shoulder pads.
Iconic! Christian Dior’s New Look was revolutionary in Post-War Europe. And really shaped fashion of the 1950s. This isn’t actually by Dior, and doesn’t even have a label, but it is clearly that New Look style.
